Unlike all the other nannies on this web site, Celia is now working and living in British Columbia and should be available on short notice - because there is no need apply for a visa in Singapore or Manila. Her employer is prepared to release Celia to work for a family where her talents can be put to better use. As a trained midwife, Celia is well suited to take care of babies and infants. Celia is gentle, perhaps too gentle for children who are independent.

Celia, like many Filipino nannies going to Canada, was "trained" on the job in Singapore where she worked for two and a half years. In this position, she took care of a girl from the age of 4. Besides taking care of the girl, Celia also performed housekeeping duties: cooking, cleaning, laundry and ironing. In addition, she occasionally does the grocery shopping for her employer.

When she was offered a job (in 2000) in Canada, her Singapore employer, assuming that her visa would be issued promptly went ahead and hired a new nanny to replace Celia. So Celia went home before she was issued a visa to go to Canada. Once home in the Philippines, she promptly went to work for her former employer - Ramones General Hospital. This is an indication that Celia is no idler. It is also a reflection of the regard her previous employer held her in, for it is not everyone who gets hired by a previous employer.
