I am Marissa K. Dalay, 31 years old, 5 ft in height, 40 kg. with a light complexion a Filipino citizen. I completed my academic secondary course last April 5, 1987, I went to college for 5 years. After my graduation in secondary course i plan to take up nursing course because i want to become a professional nurse someday to take care of the sick people. But sadly the tuition fees are very high so i decided to enrolled in Bachelor of Arts in Economics in the Government school then i study until 2½ years. Later on my father agreed, I transfer to a private school of nursing to study nursing course so I enrolled. After 2½ years my father cannot afford to pay my tuition fees because my 2 sister and 1 brother are also in college it is very difficult for him to budget his salary. I'm the eldest so i give up nursing. Then i decide to work as an accounting cleak in Zamsureco II Electric Cooperative Inc. last 1996. After 1 year i come and work as a domestic helper here in Singapore because the salary is higher than in the Philippines. My experience in the Philippines are the Economic crisis, unlike in Singapore is no so affected to the crisis of the Asian country.

I am here in Singapore last Oct. 1997. Since i came until now, I'm working for the same employer. My job are to take care of 3 children and do the house hold works.

I start to work on this family, they have 2 children. The eldest child was 3 years and 6 months and the 2nd child 15 month old. My employer 7 months pregnant with the 3rd children. After two months she gave birth. So i take care of this child since birth until now.

I know how to bath the baby, change diapers and prepare the food, sterilize the bottle and clean everything so that the baby will not get sick.

I know how to prepare solid foods when the baby grows bigger. I make porridge with chicken mean, fish, pork and liver with vegetables for feeding the baby. Everytime i cook i change the vegetables so that the taste is not the same the baby will not be scared to the food.

I can handle all the 3 children even 4 children i can handle vey well. It is not difficult for me because I know how to handle children. Base on my 4 years experience working on this family. When the children start to talk and can recognise letters i teach them the alphabets, reading story books then when they grow bigger I teach them how to colour and write.

The age of the 3 children now are 7, 5 and 3 years - 6 months. The eldest child now is in Primary One the 2nd is in kindergarten and the youngest is in nursery school. I help them to thier houseworks and sometimes i give them a practice book for them to read and write. The eldest one has a tutor who comes twice a week only. But then when the tutor will not come, I'll be the one to teach the shool home work. Sometimes when the parents are free they can teach a little bit English and Maths more on Chinese.

My employer's house is a 3-storey terrance house. I do a lot of house hold job like general cleaning and itdying, ironing, laudry. There are 6 adults in the family and 3 children. So there's a lot of laundry and ironing to do. But for me no problem at all.

In cooking i know to cook vegetabkes by frying, steaming and boiling. I can cook steaks, chicken, neats, fish, vegetables and pasta. I know how to cook Western food i learn from the Philippinines. And the Chinese food, i learn from the grandmother here in Singapore.

I am very fond of childrn and I cxan assure you i can handle 3 or 4 children. I'm a hardworking person i can take good care of your children and then if you teach me how to cook Canadian food i can cook for you also. I can do all the works you want me to do. I hope that you will employ me.

If you employ me, I will give my concern, love and care to your children. I will cook for you, keep your house neat and tidy. And i do my best as ican in order for you to satisfy.

So God Bless you and your family.

Respectfully yours

Marissa Dalay
