Salary is more or less fixed by the provincial government and varies from one
province to another.
As a rough guide, put the salary at around C$1300.00 per month. The employer is entitled to deduct from this amount $325.00 for food and lodging provided by the employer. The net before tax and other deductions would thus be $975.00
The salary is fixed by law and represents the minimum wage. However, this sum appears very generous to the women in Singapore. In your own best interest, you should consider giving the nanny a regular salary review every six months or so, because once they are already in Canada, they will be tempted by even more generous terms, topping the minimum wage.
